Our Story
Woodstream Campsite has welcomed families to the banks of this creek since 1965. In January 2026, Andrew and Sherry Sturner became the proud new owners of this beloved Western New York campground, carrying forward more than 60 years of tradition while bringing fresh energy and a lifetime of outdoor passion to every season.
Andrew and Sherry are not newcomers to the campground world. They have lived the RV lifestyle half-time, spending six months each year on the road, logging tens of thousands of miles across the United States and Canada, and visiting more than 150 campgrounds. They know what makes a great campground from the inside out. When they found Woodstream, they stopped looking.
Co-Owner
Andrew Sturner
Andrew Sturner brings more than 22 years of experience owning and operating hospitality businesses. As founder and chairman of Aqua Marine Partners, he built and managed a portfolio of marinas across Florida, Georgia, Maryland, and New York, overseeing hundreds of employees and thousands of boating customers.
Before the marina business, Andrew built a career as a serial entrepreneur in technology and media, including leadership roles at CBS SportsLine.com and MovieFone, both publicly traded companies. He is also co-founder of Boatsetter, the boat-sharing platform. Andrew earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
Andrew grew up in New Jersey and has deep roots in New York State. He and Sherry spent years RVing full-time before finding Woodstream, visiting more than 150 campgrounds across North America. He writes about the RV lifestyle, Letchworth State Park, and what it takes to run a campground that guests return to year after year.
Co-Owner
Sherry Sturner is the operational heart of Woodstream Campsite. Her background spans small business operations, hospitality management, and community building at a scale that few campground owners can match.
As co-owner of a hospitality franchise, Sherry grew revenues, streamlined operations, improved guest satisfaction, and earned recognition as a top-ranked franchisee. Her instinct for creating warm, welcoming experiences translates directly to campground life, where every detail of arrival, activities, and atmosphere shapes a stay.
Sherry is also a proven community organizer. She founded Save Our Summers, a grassroots campaign that amassed tens of thousands of supporters across Florida and resulted in a state law setting a uniform school start date. The campaign earned national media coverage including features in the Sun Sentinel and an appearance on the Tucker Carlson Show. Sherry grew up in South Florida and shares Andrew’s deep love of New York State and the outdoors. She is a Brooklyn Law School graduate and writes about campground life, family activities, and the community experience that makes Woodstream more than just a place to stay.
The Decision
We did not stumble into this. We spent four years living full-time in our RV, traveling tens of thousands of miles across the United States and Canada, visiting more than 150 campgrounds in search of the one we would call home.
We looked for genuine character. Loyal guests. A strong sense of community. A natural setting that would keep people coming back. We found all of that at Woodstream.
The creek. The hills. The proximity to Letchworth State Park. Woodstream’s loyal customers have called Woodstream home for 20, 30 even 50 years! When we walked the property for the first time, we both knew this was it.
We are honored to be the stewards of something families have trusted for more than 60 years. Our job is to make it even better, one season at a time.
Good to Know
Andy & Sherry purchased Woodstream Campsite in 2026. They are excited to continue the legacy of hospitality that Woodstream has been providing to campers since 1965.
Andy is an entrepreneur, mentor, strategic investor, advisor and board member to a handful of companies. He has 30+ years of experience as a serial entrepreneur having taken early-stage startups from ideation through scaleup to IPO/exit.
While living half-time on their RV touring over 150 campgrounds, Andy & Sherry came across Woodstream Campsite while visiting Letchworth State Park in Gainesville NY and it was love at first site. They knew they had found their next chapter.
Andy & Sherry are on site all season from May until October to welcome our guests and enjoy all that Woodstream has to offer.
